The City of Independence Parks and Recreation department is responsible for the creation and maintenance of city parks, the regulation of their use and the coordination of special events within the city.
The Recreation department also oversees and coordinates activities associated with the Senior Center.
For shelter and Senior Center Rentals, we have implemented an online booking system via Skedda. To view availability, register and book a rental online, visit: Skedda - City of Independence Rentals
*Once in Skedda, click the green + button at the bottom right of the screen to register, check availability and book your desired shelter or hall.
Once booked online, you will receive a confirmation email which will serve as your payment receipt and rental permit.
