Carol Franzen, Council Member

Carol has been a resident of Independence since 1997 and was first elected to City Council in 2002. She is currently serving her tenth term on council.

Carol graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1993 and earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science with an area of concentration in Public Administration.

Carol and her husband Mark have three sons whom are all graduates of Simon Kenton High School. Brad is working as a Biomedical Engineerand lives in Bloomington with his wife Abbey. Ryan just completed his degree at NKY and currently works as a supervisor at UPS and lives with his wife Chelcey in Wisconsin. Their youngest son Jared just competed his degree at Gateway and current works at UPS as well and is still a resident of Independence. 

Carol is an active member of Independence Christian Church where she currently serves as an elder.  She has also been the head boys and girls swim coach at SK since 2012.
