Art in the Park

The City of Independence sponsors an arts and crafts program during the months of July & August.  These programs are for children ages 6 to 13 years old.  The classes are on Friday mornings from 10 to noon at the shelter in Memorial Park. 
Laurie Groseclose with Creative Expressions is the instructor for these programs.  There is a nominal fee for art supplies.  Registration is required.  Some of the previous projects that we have made are: mosaic flower pots, wire sculpture, garden stepping stones, portrait painting, building butterfly/bug boxes, tie dye t-shirts, portrait & animal drawing, beaded jewelry, bird houses, shoe bird feeders, jean purses or backpacks, cartoon drawings, sand castings, canned butterfly wind chimes, rockets, dream catchers and many more.
