Easter Egg Hunt - The City of Independence hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Park for children 2 - 10 years of age. This event is held prior to Easter and information will be posted on this web site when available.

Memorial Day Parade - The Memorial Day Parade is held on the last Monday in May. The Parade is sponsored by the American Legion Society. The Memorial Day Parade begins at Delaware Crossing and travels North on Madison Pike to the Kenton County Courthouse.

Flag Day - The American Legion Society holds a Flag Destruction Ceremony on June 14th each year at Sterling Staggs Park.

The 4th of July Celebration - The 4th of July Celebration starts with a parade that runs from Summit View Middle School to Memorial Park. The festival is held at Memorial Park and begins with the arrival of the parade. Festivities include food, rides & games for children, and concludes with a spectacular fireworks show.

The Christmas Walk - This event is usually held during the first Saturday in December. This walk takes place along Madison Pike at the following locations: the Masonic Lodge, Municipal Center, Fire Station #1, the Senior Citizens and Community Center and the Center’s parking lot.
