Carol Franzen was elected to City Council in 2002 and is currently serving her third term.

Carol Franzen graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1993 and earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science with an area of concentration in Public Administration.

Carol is a graduate of the Independence Citizen's Police Academy and a member of its Alumni Association. She is also a member of the VIPS program. Carol is currently serving on the Northern Kentucky Consensus Committee and was appointed to that committee by State Senator Damon Thayer.

Carol is also an active member of the Independence Christian Church and serves as board secretary.

Carol is married and has 3 boys. She and her family have been Independence residents for more than eleven years now.
