Independence City Council - Jim Bushong

Jim is serving in his fifth term on Council. He has really enjoyed this ten years of working with the Mayor and his  fellow councilmen.  He and Kathy have lived in the Beechgrove subdivision for 27 years, and is retired after being in business for 35 years.

His two daughters and son all attended Simon Kenton.  He attended the basic and advanced Citizens Police Academy and he started the alumni association in 2000.  They attend and are very active in Faith Community United Methodist Church, where they are soloist.

Jim favors controlled growth for the city, wants more streets repaired and eventually will help in lowering the local taxes.  He volunteers as a courier for Hoxworth Blood Center, collecting blood from throughout Northern Kentucky.
