Independence City Administrator

The City Administrator is hired by the Mayor, with the approval of City Council, and runs the day-to-day operations of the City. He, or she, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other city employees and department heads, Federal, state, and local governmental agencies, and members of the general public.

The City Administrator is also responsible for the preparation and implementation of the yearly budget and performs Economic Development activities to encourage the retention and attraction of businesses within the City. The City Administrator researches, applies for, and administers grants programs for the City.
